Our story.

I homeschool. I never thought I would say those words. I have an MBA and 15+ years in pharma & biotech — not a background most would immediately associate with homeschooling. My kids are starting high school now, and I'm so glad we've been on this bumpy, fun road together since second grade.

Our education journey
Waldorf
Waldorf There are days when I wonder.

Had I bitten off more than I could chew? Would my kids ever speak to me when they became adults? And is it really possible for one person to wear so many hats? (The answers are probably not, probably yes, and who knew.)

Homeschool + 1:1 Private Instruction
Homeschool + 1:1 Private Instruction But I've always been certain of our purpose: to raise joyful, curious, and resilient lifelong learners.

We chose to homeschool because we wanted more time together as a family; we wanted to be the primary 'influencers' in our children's formative years; and we wanted our kids to own their learning — the content and the pace.

Homeschool 100% Me
Homeschool 100% Me I've always homeschooled with a mastery-based approach. Listening. Watching. Waiting. Adapting.

Our pace is set by comprehension, not course calendar. I've tried off-the-shelf programs, mix-and-match, and when nothing truly fit, written the curriculum myself.

We've been on that dreaded, lonely stretch of road where friends were few and far between, and the 'socialization' fear kept creeping up.

But we found our rhythm. Now our kids thrive. They are strong students, kind humans, good friends, and comfortable in their own skin.

Over the years, I was having the same conversation with parents.

Some were just curious. Others didn't know where to start. And some wondered whether they were “doing it right.”

Homeschool + Online Accredited
Homeschool + Online Accredited Light the Spark came from years of helping families think it through.

I founded Light the Spark to help you build your homeschool — to sort through the options, find your footing, and design a clear plan that fits your child, your family, and the reality of your life. No one knows your child as well as you do.

Homeschooling is not for every family. But when it's a fit, you'll wonder why you waited.
